Simply because they mess up bookmarks and make it a pain in the ass to go to specific pages if they didn't already mess up the bookmarks. Although sometimes frames are very nice, because they give users a navigation tool that will look the same throughout the site. Which is really what people want, something that they can easily use to do what they want to do! This is were software is going, if it wasn't already there... "User friendly" software and "User friendly" web pages. Most web pages that incorperate frames don't let the user bookmark specific web pages, but instead will bookmark the root directory.

I have in the past, changed my little site over to frames. I've decided to go to, what I considered to be a smarter choice of using tables as navigation tools instead of frames. Frames are used on my site were appropiate, like on my rainman page. This is the only page that currently uses frames and is the only current page that will use frames. I don't know about upcoming pages, but most if not all should be regular pages with tables for navigation.
